Rae Starr

RS&Rollei

Rae Starr has returned to traditional black and white photography after a hiatus of 25 years

These images are made with traditional cameras. However, Rae Starr is also active in pinhole photography and currently building 12 x 20 inch monsters for planned work, following workshops in Bristol with Justin Quinnell

For traditional photography Rae Starr is showing a liking for fine old German cameras like the Contaflex and Rolleiflex, thereby following the great tradition of little old ladies with Rolleis

Note, this image depends on subtle tonal values at both the high and low end of the range, so does not transpose well to digital media
